Cross Country Road Safari flagged off from Dibrugarh

GUWAHATI: As part of the celebration of the 144th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Regional Outreach Bureau, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is conducting a Cross Country Road Safari in Assam. The Deputy Commandant of CRPF, Dibrugarh unit L Samual Jamir flagged off the road safari on Wednesday. The safari starts from Dibrugarh today and will reach Tezpur tonight. The road safari will then move to Dhubri and will reach Silchar tomorrow evening. The road safari organized by Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati will cover the four corners of Assam with an aim to spread the ideologies of Sardar Patel.

The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed on October 31 every year with ‘Integration of India’ as the theme. On this occasion various activities are being organized across ministries/departments all over the country which includes Run for Unity in Guwahati and other districts of Assam.

The Government had decided to observe the birth anniversary of SardarVallabhbhai Patel as the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day) on October 31 every year. This occasion provides an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country.
