HOWRAGHAT: The 20th Bn CRPF situated at Birla Gate area of Diphu town observed the 15-day long Swachhata Pakhwada. The programme began from December 1.

The Swachhata Pakhwada programme is a part of the Indian Government's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'. Under this plan, a fortnight-long agenda is undertaken every year during which several other cleanliness and hygiene-related activities are carried out. The Government of India launched this mission to spread the message of Mahatma Gandhi who had dreamt of a India free from dirt and diseases.

Under the initiative, RD Jeany Anal, Commandant of the 20th Battalion of the CRPF, observed the course in their base camp. During the observation, the jawans sanitized their compound and nearby areas.

Plastic wrappers littering the camp campus were removed and the garbage dump was cleaned. The officers educated the jawans about the importance of sanitation and hygiene and its impact on good health.
