LAKHIMPUR: The Assam State Election Commission (SEC) on October 11 issued notification for conducting the Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) Election, 2022. As per the notification, the election will be held on November 8 and the result of the same will be declared on November 10.

On the other hand, the last date for submission of nomination papers is October 19. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 20 while the last date for candidates to withdraw nomination is October 25. On the same day, the final list of the candidates will be announced.

In the Lakhimpur district, the election will be held for seven constituencies of the DAC. These constituencies are No. 15 Bor Deori Constituency (ST), No. 16 Bahgora Constituency (ST, Woman), No. 17 Kachikota Constituency (ST), No. 18 Pisala Constituency (ST, Woman), No. 19 Kina Pothar Constituency (ST), No. 20 Bongalmora Constituency (ST) and No. 21 Gabharu Tunijan Constituency (ST).

A press release issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Lakhimpur said that the intending candidates could collect the nomination papers from the Cabin 3, 4 and 8 of his office (First Floor) 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. In the district, the polling will be held in a total of 20 polling stations covering all the seven council constituencies. A total of 12,864 voters, 6273 male and 6591 female, will exercise their franchise in the election. Notably, DAC has a total of 22 constituencies across the State.
