Damodar Dev Xatra and Kali Mandir of Kshudra Bhaluki to be preserved

BARPETA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Barpeta visited the Bhaluki-Barbhaluki area and Kshudra Bhaluki of Bajali on Monday. There are two historical places dating back to the 18th century in these areas and the Deputy Commissioner felt that they should be preserved.

These two historical places are the Damodar Dev Xatra of Barbhaluki and Kali Mandir of Kshudra Bhaluki which were established by Queen Phuleswari of the Ahom kingdom in the 18th century. The DC met the locals and discussed the development of those places. For the development of Damodar Dev Xatra, Rs 10 lakh has already been allotted. The DC said that he would ask for more fund for the renovation of these two historical places. DIPRO Bikash Sarma also accompanied the DC.
