TINSUKIA: The Dangari Regional Students’ Union of AASU resorted to 2-hour sit-in in front of Registered Office (RO) of Apeejay Tea Limited at Talap under Doomdooma circle to protest the withdrawal of General Manager post and to seek proper restoration of Central Hospital at Longsowal on Friday. The Union submitted a memorandum to the General Manager which was issued by Puheswar Sonowal and Jitul Sonowal, president and general secretary respectively.

The memorandum while condemning the attitude of the management stated that following withdrawal of GM office, fresh appointment against the vacancies had been completely stopped at Talap RO rendering the office almost ineffective. This also has deprived opportunity for local appointments. The Union demanded the immediate appointment of staff at RO office, the appointment of a general manager and a Principal Medical Officer (PMO) at Central Hospital failing which the Union threatened to launch a vigorous agitation, the memo added.
