Darrang girl Angela Kashyap brings laurels in Xatriya dance

MANGALDAI: Dorothy Angela Kashyap- a Class VIII student of Jyoti Nagar in Mangaldai town - has brought accolades to Darrang district in Xatriya dance. Dorothy, daughter of Bobby Mazumder and Bipul Jyoti Kalita, has been gaining fame in the field of Xatriya

dance on various stages, including Guwahati, and has won various competitions in various parts of Assam. She has also enthralled the audience with her performance in cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Shimla and Banaras Hindu University, Nagpur.

Dorothy- a student of Xatriya Guru Kushal Deka of 'Trinayan Sangeet Vidyalaya' of Mangaldai - has also bagged the first prize from Assam Satra Mahasabha. She also participated in various online dance competitions amidst the lockdown and won prizes. Recently, Dorothy has been awarded 'Nityashree' and 'Nitya Ratna' awards in Xatriya dance.
