Darrang Police arrested one person for issuing fake appointment letter

MANGALDAI: On the basis of a written complaint lodged by Deputy Commissioner Dilip Kumar Borah, Darrang Police on the night of May 7 arrested one youth of Sipajhar on the charge of issuing a fake appointment letter with the forged signature of the Deputy Commissioner to an unemployed educated girl.

The Deputy Commissioner, immediately on hearing about the allegation from one Amina Begum of village Gerimari on the outskirts of Mangaldai town, informed the matter to Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Ujjwal Pratim Barua. Accordingly, a police team led by in-charge of Town Branch, Sub Inspector Dantejit Deuri arrested Pranab Saharia (21), son of Kapil Saharia of village Satgharia under Sipajhar Police Station of the district. The arrested accused is a dropout of ITI and was earlier also arrested by Sipajhar Police Station on the charge of the same offence. He has booked in connection with Mangaldai PS Case Number 197/2021 under section 406/420 of Indian Penal Code.

The arrested accused in the fake appointment letter had appointed the girl in the non-existent post of Court Computer File Checker with the assured salary of 11000 US dollar per month.
