Darrang Zila Parishad member arrested on the charge of allegedly raping his wife

MANGALDAI: Strong sensation prevails following the arrest of Zila Parishad Member of Shyamtila ZPC of Darrang Zila Parishad and Congress activist Humayun Kabir, son of Nurul Islam of village Rajapukhuri, on the charge of outraging the modesty of his wife.

Meanwhile, police have arrested the absconding accused in connection with Dhula Police station case number 366/2021 under section 376 (D)/506 of the Indian Penal Code. Surprisingly his wife, with whom accused Humayun Kabir had tied the nuptial knot only a month back, lodged a complaint at Panbari Police Out Post on November 25 that she had been the victim of gang rape by her husband Humayun Kabir, along with three other accused persons, namely Safiqul Rahman, Jainuddin Ahmed and Fakharuddin. Humayun Kabir and the three other accused were absconding.

Following Kabir's arrest, police are hopeful to book the other three absconding persons soon.
