LAKHIMPUR: The UBPO (United Bodo People's Organization) has rescheduled the days for its 8th annual conference to be held at Langhin of Karbi Anglong district by advancing it by one day. As per new schedule, the event will be held on February 25, February 26 and February 27 of the upcoming year. This decision was taken by an executive body meeting of organizations held at Bodo Literary and Cultural Complex on December 23. Earlier, the event was scheduled to be held on February 26, February 27 and February 28.

The executive body meeting was held under the chairmanship of UBPO vice-president Dr. Nayan Basumatary. It was addressed by assistant general secretary Amit Kumar Basumatary in the presence of advisers Bipin Goyari, Sukreswar Goyari and representatives from 20 districts out of 22 of the State which the organization covers.

Moreover, the executive body meeting has adopted a resolution to assemble more than 3,000 delegates and observers from all over Assam to camp in the event. The meeting has further decided to organize sports events and literary competitions during the conference and to invite all the Bodo frontal organizations to the event from all over the nation, Bangladesh and Nepal.
