Dibrugarh: Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha took stock of several projects being implemented by PWD Housing department in the district on Monday.

Jha, along with District Development Commissioner Sanjay Dutta and office bearers of PWD Housing Department, reviewed the progress of the under-construction ITI for differently-abled in Barbaruah. Reviewing the structure built at an outlay of Rs 5.94 crore, the DC instructed the PWD engineers and contractors to complete the construction of the ITI within the stipulated time. Examining the ongoing repair work on the previous ITI present within the same campus, Jha instructed the department to finish the work within five days.

The under-construction Multipurpose Sports Project at Khanikar was the next project to be taken stock of. He had a discussion with the PWD engineers at the site. Jha also reviewed the landscaping work of the Cultural Centre for Tea Tribes at Chaulkhowa, and at the same time, also took stock of the ongoing work of construction of statues in memory of tea community leaders Santosh Kumar Tapna and Simon Singh Sar.
