Death anniversary of Bina Deka observed in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The first death anniversary of Bina Deka, former Principal, Doomdooma College, and the founder president of Doomdooma Sakha Lekhika Samaroh Samity and Ramdhenu Mahila Chora respectively, was observed by Ramdhenu Mahila Chora on Tuesday in the Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) Bhavan premises.

The programme got under way with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp in front of the portrait of Bina Deka by octogenarian adviser Gayatri Goswami. It was followed by smriti tarpan lead by president Dibyalata Deka. The programme was inaugurated by connoisseur of Sankari art and culture, Madhab Bora with a Krishna Bandana sung along with Bhakat of Doomdooma Namghar, Mahendra Neog. Thereafter, an all-religious prayer was held where Sri Satya Sai Seva Samity's Bhajan, Doomdooma Sadar Patti Mosque's Koran path, Shri Guru Singh Sabha Gurudwara, Doomdooma's Guru Saheb Grantha path were performed by the devotees of the aforesaid religious organizations.

On the other hand, the Deh Bichar Geet presented by a group of members of Doomdooma Sakha Lekhika Samaroh Samity and Diha Naam by the members of the Ramdhenu Mahila Chora enthralled the audience.
