NALBARI: ‘Beej- the seed’, a voluntary organization for literature, culture and society is observing the 104th death anniversary of Pundit Mahamahopadhyay Dhireswaracharrya on October 26 at P B Ambapriya High School, Sanekuchi Nalbari. Bibhu Dutta, a renowned documentary director and playwright of the district will preside the meet in commemoration of the greatest Pundit of the district.

Manash Jyoti Sarma, a member of ‘Beej-the seed’ States that Mahamahopadhyay Dhireswaracharrya, born in 1851 and died in 1919, was one of the most learned Sanskrit scholar of the State. He is still unsung in the field and a lot should be done in his memory in the State. He wrote Brittamanjuri, Stotramanjuri, Leelamanjuri and many other in Sanskrit. Dr Dinamani Bhagabati, president of Kamrup Sanskrit Sanjeevani Sabha, Haridev Bhattacharya, a Sanskrit teacher and young writer Hiranya Talukdar will commemorate late Mahamahopadhyay Dhireswaracharrya on the day. Kamal Chandra Das and Pranab Kumar Chakrabarty, members of ‘Beej-the seed’ informed that senior journalist Naren Sarma, retired professor Kanak Chandra Lahkar, Girindra Deva Sarma, Anil Chandra Sarma, Prakash Kalita and many dignitaries will attend the meet.
