BONGAIGAON: Demanding compensation for flood victims and announcement of flood in Assam as a national disaster, the All Minorities Students' Union (AMSU) formed human chain in Bongaigaon and Chirang. In Bongaigaon district, they formed human chain at NH-31 at Rakhaldubi area and at Chirang they formed the human chain near Hagrama bridge. Rezaul Karim Sarkar, president of AMSU, said that several lakh people of Assam were affected by flood. "But yet proper relief is not provided to the victims. Our demand is for declaration of flood in Assam as national disaster, supply of proper relief materials to all affected people and supply of food material for domestic animals," he said. A memorandum was submitted to the Chief Minister through respective DCs.
