Defence Organization Conducted Workshop on Water Quality Assessment

Tezpur: The Defence Research Laboratory, one of the premier establishments of the Defence Research and Development Organization located at Tezpur in Sonitpur district, under the leadership and initiative of its director, Dr. Sanjai Kumar Dwivedi, conducted a workshop to bring awareness among the troops and civil population in the forward and difficult areas about the importance of water quality analysis. Water may look clear and clean but it may contain many harmful elements, including bacteria. Thus, water quality analysis is very important to assess in order to rule out any contaminants present for safe drinking. Once the contaminants are detected, treatment of water can be initiated. Information on water quality, challenges, and possible solutions, DRDO products and technologies for field application of paramilitary forces, live demonstration to detect the major contaminants using DRDO Water Testing Kit are some of the important topics which were discussed in the workshop.
