Deka Xatriya of Barpeta Xatra and Thiyanaam artiste Nabajit Das no more

BARPETA: The Deka Xatriya of Barpeta Xatra and Thiyanaam artiste, Nabajit Das Pathak breathed his last on Tuesday morning. He was 60. Son of Debendra Nath Pathak of Major Hati, Barpeta, Nabajit Das Pathak was also a Thiyanaam artiste. He also performed bhaona and naat. His melodious voice in Thiyanaam fascinated the people. He was also a radio artiste. In the year 1987, Nabajit Das Pathak went to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and gave training there on xatriya culture. He was involved in various organizations like Sankardev Kalakshetra, Barpeta, and Sankardev Samaj, Barpeta.
