Guwahati: 'Bulli Bai' app creator Neeraj Bishnoi along with Sulli Deals' app creator Omkareshwar Thakur has been granted bail by a Delhi court on humanitarian grounds.

The duo got bail owning to the fact that the court considered that the accused were first time offenders and had no previous criminal record and added that confining them to prison in such an early age would be detrimental to their overall well-being.

But, the court also warned them to refrain from threatening any witness or tampering any evidence. The court also asked them to fully co-operate with the investigation process.

The court order stated that the accused would not tamper with evidence, would provide his contact details to the investigating officer and would not keep his phone switched off and would provide his location to the investigating officer.

They were also forbidden from leaving the country and they have been mandated to appear before the court on every single hearing.

Earlier, the duo's bail petition had been rejected by the court in January with the court saying that their act was an "affront to the dignity of the women of particular community and communal harmony of the society".

The investigation earlier revealed the fact that the Bulli Bai app was a platform to target women journalists and celebrities of a particular community and portray them in a bad light with the aim of insulting and humiliating them by objectifying them.

According to police, Bishnoi had, in October,  created a list of women whom he wanted to defame online on his digital devices, a laptop, and cell phones. He was tracing women activists all over social media and downloading their photos.

The 21 year old student is pursuing B. Tech from Vellore Institute of Technology in Bhopal and he was arrested from his hometown of Jorhat and was remanded to seven days police custody earlier.
