DIBRUGARH: Delhi Public School, Dibrugarh celebrated the 9th International Yoga Day on the theme “Vaisudhaiva Kutumbakam”, wherein chief guest Col. Ravi Pratap Singh, Commanding Officer 5 MADRAS, First Lady, Capt. Akash Saharan, along with 200 jawans from the Defence Force, Founder of Gyan Ved Foundation Mahavir Prasad Jain, PVC C.A. Sanjay Jain, Director Banita Jain, Board Member Angel Jain, Devyanshi Jain, Principal Probhati Biswas, other dignitaries, teachers and 1000 students across grades rose to the occasion to celebrate the International Day of Yoga in association with 5 MADRAS Regiment at the school premises.

The commencement of the ceremony began with lighting of the lamp followed by the felicitation ceremony. Board Member Angel Jain, in her welcome note addressed the benefits of yoga. Furthermore, chief guest Col. Ravi Pratap Singh, addressed the importance of instilling self discipline and positive mindfulness among the younger generation. The vote of thanks was then presented by school principal Probhati Biswas. In an atmosphere filled with zeal, the students of DPS Dibrugarh showcased different yoga postures by performing yoga asanas. The main highlight of the event was the first of its kind in a school in the Northeast “Kalaripayattu Martial Art” performed by the brave Jawans of 5 MADRAS.PVC C.A. Sanjay Jain thanked one and all for the wonderful show, particularly 5 MADRAS and the students of DPSD for putting up such a grand show. He also thanked the administration and mentioned that such events are a regular feature in DPS Dibrugarh, stated a press release.
