Demand for operating passenger train in Gouripur-Jogighopa route

BILASIPARA: Strong discontentment is prevailing among the people of Bilasipara, Chapar, Salkocha, Bahalpur, Abhayapuri etc. for non-operation of passenger train in the Gouripur-Jogighopa route of the New Moinaguri Jogighopa Railway route. After long agitation, goods train has been operating for the last two years, but even after the completion of the necessary infrastructure, passenger train is not yet operating.

Dayal Paul, one of the member of the New Moinaguri-Jogighopa Railway Extension Demand Committee on behalf of the demand committee demanded immediate operation of passenger train in the route. If this demand is not met then the people will be compelled to stage protest, he said.
