NAHARKATIA: In the current financial year, the State Education and Finance Minister allocated funds to solve the long-standing problems in the education sector. Under the Assam Education (Provincialization of Services of Teachers and Re-organization of Educational Institutions) Act, 2017, steps have been taken for the provincialization of non-provincialized educational institutions.

According to the Act, most of the districts have already completed the physical verification of primary education institutions and have already sent the documents to the Directorate of Education. The Assam Non-State Educational Institution Suraksha Mancha and the Sadou Assam Recognized Middle English Teachers' Association submitted a memorandum to Tarang Gogoi, one of the secretaries of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assam State Committee on Tuesday, in support of various demands. They demanded that the list of provincialization of educational institutions should be published on time as per the announcement of the Education Minister and the provision of physical verification of incomplete educational institutions should be made in accordance with the law; amending the Venture Act and making arrangements for the provincialization of all posts of teachers and staff in government-recognized non-provincialized educational institutions; providing one-time financial assistance to unpaid retirees and teachers / staff / families who die in the line of duty and providing all kinds of government facilities to the students studying in non-provincialized educational institutions.
