Demand for ST status, protest staged in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: Jatiya Chah Shakti, State committee, in association with Doomdooma Anchalik, staged a one-hour sit-in in front of Doomdooma Revenue Circle Office at Rupaisiding on Wednesday in support of their demand for according Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Adivasis as well as fulfilling the long-standing demands of the tea-workers of Assam.

Later, they submitted a memorandum containing a 10-point charter of demands to the Chief Minister of Assam through the Circle Officer (CO), Doomdooma Revenue Circle.
