Demand to close down liquor shop in Golaghat

GOLAGHAT: Local people of several villages of greater Kamarbandha area in Golaghat have complained against three persons for running a liquor shop in the area and allegedly polluting the social atmosphere.

The liquor shop is located on agricultural land at a distance of about 100 metres to 150 metres from Maotgaon (Bokolai ), Barichuwa Naamghar, Mouzamati Thaan and Vaidik Mandir under Kamarbandha Police Outpost in Golaghat. Local people have complained against the three persons who have opened the shop as they allegedly did not take into consideration the concerns of the people of the area before opening the shop.

People also alleged that the liquor shop was polluting the social atmosphere. On Thursday, they submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat in this regard.
