Demand to release long-pending remuneration of Sivasagar Zila Gaon Panchayat representatives

GAURISAGAR: The newly-formed Sivasagar Zila Gaon Panchayat President Santha submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam through Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Bishnu Kamal Borah on Monday.

In the memorandum, the Santha demanded release of long-pending remuneration soon. They also demanded hike in remuneration of gaon panchayat president upto Rs.30,000, gaon panchayat vice-president and Anchalik Parishad member's remuneration to Rs.20,000 and remuneration of ward members to Rs.10,000. Besides, they also demanded monthly pension and health insurance.

A nine-point charter of demands was submitted to the Chief Minister through the Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner. The team was led by Santha president Aparupa Saikia, secretary Jituraj Baruah and other office bearers. The Santha also discussed with Bipul Saikia, Chief Executive Officer, Sivasagar Zila Parishad, about their problems.
