Demise of former ABWWF leader mourned in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The Executive Member (EM) of Boro Kachari Welfare Council (BKWAC), Anil Basumatary on Wednesday mourned the demise of Dr Chambati Khakhlary, Assistant Professor of Bikali College of Dhupdhura, Goalpara, wife of Amiya Kr. Basumatary, EM of BKWAC. She passed away on Wednesday at Health City Hospital, Guwahati.

Basumatary expressed deep sorrow over her untimely demise. He said that Khaklary contributed a lot towards the promotion of Bodo literature, women empowerment as well as in building a vibrant Bodo society. He also said she was a sincere and popular leader of the All Bodo Women’s Welfare Federation (ABWWF). The Bodos have lost a great personality, he said adding that her dedication for the society would always be remembered.
