DIBRUGARH: Former Joint Director of Agriculture Department, Government of Assam, former president of Dibrugarh Centre for Islamic Studies, former trustee of Dibrugarh Jakat and Imdad Foundation, and a distinguished agri-researcher, Mujib Ullah Hazarika passed away on Thursday at his own residence at 'J' Lane, Milannagar due to old-age ailments. He was 76.
Hazarika is survived by his wife Nasim Hazarik, son Rashed Hazarika, an engineer, and daughter Dr Erfana Hazarika, besides a number of grandchildren. His last rite was performed at Amolapatty burial ground on Friday in the presence of a number of his admirers and family members.
His death was widely condoled by Dibrugarh Center for Islamic Studies, Jakat and Imdad Foundation, Dibrugarh Idgah Committee, Amolapatty Kabrastan Committee, Naliapool Kabrastan Committee, Milannagarh Masjid Committee, Naliapool Masjid Committee and Faize Elias Maddrassa and number of prominent personalities of community.
