Demow Regional Students' Union demand for probe into alleged rice scam

DEMOW: The Demow Regional Students' Union expressed concern over the alleged rice scam in Nitai Panidehing Samabai Samiti.

In a press release, the Demow Regional Students' Union stated that under Demow Revenue Circle area, the PDS agents under Nitai Panidehing Samabai Samiti had reduced 250 gm rice from the total quota of free rice to beneficiaries. The students' body condemned this and demanded a proper investigation into the alleged rice scam.

Shiva Prasad Saikia, vice president of Demow Regional Students' Union and other leaders had submitted a memorandum to the Demow Circle Officer on this issue on October 6.
