KOKRAJHAR: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Boro Kachari Welfare Autonomous Council (BKWAC) Mihiniswar Basumatary on Friday alloted the departments to the EMs of the new council for smooth running of departmental works.
Sources from the BKWAC said that CEM Mihiniswar Basumatary has taken the responsibility of PWD and any other department not allotted to any other EM, while chairman Gambaru Muchahary has been alloted P & RD and Forest and deputy chairman Srijwn Basumatary has been given Fisheries and Urban Development and Town & Country Planning.
Deputy CEM Romeo P. Narzary has been allotted Social Welfare, Handloom & Textile and Museum & Archaeology, Anil Basumatary, EM, has been given Education and Library Services and EM Amiyo Kr. Basumatary has been given Minor Irrigation and Land & Land Revenue. The other EMs are- Binud Basumatary (WPT & BC and Tribal Research), Pradip Swargiary (Agriculture and Market & Fairs), Pranab Boro (Cultural Affairs and Tourism), Mathura Basumatary (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary and Co-operation, Mahipal Boro (Water Resources and Soil Conservation), Jaykanta Boro (Sports & Youth Welfare and Weight & Measures), Dasarat Boro (PHE and Food & Civil Supplies) and Rajesh Chorkhy (Cottage Industry and Transport).
The BKWAC, formed for over 10 lakh Boro Kachari people living outside BTC, is being run from Sanjari Nwgwr, Simen Chapori in Dhemaji district as its headquarter and they have proposed to set up additional office in Guwahati for smooth cover of villages across Assam.
