Devastating fire in a commercial building in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: A devastating fire broke out on the top floor of commercial building-Satyam Trade Tower, very close to State Bank of India, main branch, at around 2.30 pm on Tuesday.

The fire later engulfed the entire floor housing godowns and showrooms. The fire fighters from Tinsukia, OIL Duliajan and AOD Digboi were pressed into service and it was successfully doused after two hours. The prompt operation saved several banks like State Bank of India, Indian Bank and Central Bank of India, besides other commercial establishments. Minister Sanjay Kishan along with senior civil and police officials supervised the evacuation exercises.
