Dharna stage in Bilasipara Railway Station to demand operation of passenger train

BILASIPARA: Under the aegis of Bilasipara District Demand Committee, a dharna was staged in the Bilasipara Railway Station on Thursday to demand operation of passenger train in the New Cooch Behar-Abhayapuri sector of the New Moinaguri-Jogighopa Railway route.

People belonging to different walks of life numbering about 200 participated in the dharna. The dharna was addressed by Dayal Paul, Sheikh Hedetullah, Purandar Nath and many others. After the meeting, a memorandum was submitted to the General Manager NF Railway, Maligaon, Guwahati, through the Executive Magistrate deputed by SDO (Civil), Bilasipara demanding operation of passenger train. The Railway authority has already directed the officials concerned to operate passenger train immediately on the route.
