DHUBRI: Dhubri Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has organized Jan Sampark Abhijan (JSA) to create awareness on COVID-19 in the villages of Dhubri district as well as highlight the government's various programmes, projects and schemes being implemented in the State at all levels. Activists of JSA, led by State Executive Member of the party's OBC Morcha, Uttam Prasad, at the onset of each meeting in the villages, distributed masks among the villagers and spoke on the adherence of COVID protocol like maintaining social distancing and washing hands.
Sources in Dhubri district party informed that JSA, a programme launched by national president of the party, JP Nadda and State president Ranjit Kumar Dass in Assam, aimed to empower the people at the village level with information about the development works benefitting common people and other schemes meant for weaker sections.
State Executive Member of the party's OBC Morcha, Uttam Prasad said that connecting to people at this point of time was necessary. "It is an uphill task for the party to take the messages of the government about its plans, programmes and schemes to the people living in the remotest village, but we have succeeded in connecting with over 10,000 people in Dharmasala and Jhagrarpar by conducting five major meetings," Prasad said.
He said that they were campaigning on works done and programmes implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and added that they were focusing on the impact of schemes launched for the benefits and well-being of the people, including Swachhata Abhiyan, Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjawala Yojana, PMYA, Kishan Health Card, Kishan Soil Test, Arunoday, widow pension and old age pension.
