Dhubri district Bharatiya Janata Party releases Sankalpa Patra

DHUBRI: Dhubri district Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released the Sankalpa Patra for the civic body polls on Wednesday with promises and assurances to turn this historic urban city into a beautiful city with all civic amenities if the party retains power and forms the board again.

While releasing the Sankalpa Patra in the party office here, Dhubri district in-charge president of the party, Prosenjit Dutta said that ongoing development works in the town would continue and more such works would be undertaken to complete all works in 16 wards under Dhubri Municipal Board.

"In addition to this, ongoing construction of load bearing drains, all the other remaining drains of the town will be completed; street lights in all corners, beautification of parks, playing fields, gardening will be done. In the next five years, the board will make this historic town free from water logging and garbage with the slogan 'Clean Dhubri Green Dhubri'," Dutta said.

Talking to The Sentinel after releasing the Sankalpa Patra, Dutta informed that the party was confident of forming the board. Replying to a question, Dutta said that the party would win in 14 wards out of 16 wards under Dhubri Municipal Board as there is hardly any contest. Barring two to three wards, it is almost a clean sweep for the party, he said.

On the dissident factor, Dutta said that dissident candidates were contesting as independent candidates and they did so after being denied party tickets. But voters would not accept them.
