Dhubri District Day to be celebrated on July 1

DHUBRI: A meeting to celebrate the Dhubri District Day on July 1 was held with Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Dibakar Nath in the chair in DC conference hall on Friday. Nearly 53 stakeholders and members of various organisations participated in the meeting and put forwarded the suggestions for inclusion as events for celebration.

Deputy Commissioner, Dibakar Nath while speaking in the meeting said that one-day Dhubri District Day Celebration would be held in which a celebration meeting will be held in the District Library Auditorium. Felicitation to prominent persons who had contributed in evolution and development of Dhubri district will be given.

“Besides these, we will also keep focussing on child marriage and paddy to millets mission by creating awareness on them,” Nath added. Addressing the meeting, Dhubri Superintendent of Police, Nabin Singh proposed to highlight the history, heritage and culture of Dhubri district through electronic and digital display board.

Participants of the meeting also suggested to organize an eye camp, health check-up camp, blood donation camp, cycle rally, preparation of booklet containing name of the persons who had immense contribution in various fields in the district.

The DC said that for smooth celebration of Dhubri District Day, sub-committees would be formed.
