DHUBRI: Gurudwara Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji observed the 415th Martyrdom Day here at its premises with day-long rituals and services to the people under auspices of Sikh Pratinidhi Board, Easter Zone recently.

On the day of martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the board donated 10 ceiling fans and equal number of dustbins to Dhubri district Jail as part of humanitarian and social service. The board members also distributed chabeel and sarbat at the Gurudwara premises and other parts of Dhubri town and observed the Martyrdom Day in a befitting manner.

Secretary of Sikh Pratinidhi Board, Easter Zone, Sardar Kulwant Singh informed that the fifth Guru of Sikh religion, Guru Arjan Dev Ji made a supreme sacrifice for the well-being of mankind.

"This 415th Martyrdom Day on June 14 is observed as Shaheedi Diwas. It is observed on Jeth Sudi every year which falls in the month of June, as Guru Arjan Dev was martyred on June 16, 1606. The day also marks the observance of Chabeel Day, a significant part of the Shaheedi Diwas of the fifth Sikh Guru," Singh added.
