Dhubri Lions Club distributes wheel chairs distributed among Divyangs

DHUBRI: Dhubri Lions Club in their spree of social works distributed five wheel chairs among the differently abled and economically poor persons in its club service centre premises recently. The programme was formally inaugurated by Dhubri Deputy Superintendent of Police (head quarter), Trinayan Bhuyan.

Beneficiaries of wheel chairs were Joy Krishna Mohato, Joy Mongal Bin, Debonita Raha, Bindu Das, Niraj Kumahar. Most of the senior Lions Club members including Bhagawati Bajaj, J.M. Surana, and Amalesh Guha were present.

Talking to The Sentinel, president of Dhubri Lions Club, Suresh Harlalka said that they had chalked out a year long programme at the advent of new year.

"Beside our regular flagship programme on controlling the blindness which include eyes screening and sending the cataract patients to Guwahati Lions Club Hospital for operation entirely free of cost, various other social welfare activities were also taken up around the year," secretary of the club Sanjay Sethia informed.
