Jamugurihat: Biswanath College, which has a heritage that goes back to the year 1960, celebrated the concluding programme of the diamond jubilee year.

The college, as part of celebration of this glorious year, hosted a series of academic activities throughout the year amidst the pandemic situation. On Monday, the concluding programme of the diamond jubilee year witnessed some significant events in the college initiated by Dr. Chinta Mani Sharma, the Principal of the college.

Kokil Hazarika, the president of the governing body of the college, hoisted the flag in the morning. After that, the upgraded basketball court with the financial grant from RUSA, the water fountain and the approach roads to the main gate were inaugurated by Pramod Borthakur, MLA of Biswanath.

An open session was also organized in the college with very limited attendees following all COVID protocol. Dhrubajyoti Das, the Deputy Commissioner of Biswanth district, attended the programme as the chief guest. Two books- Obuj Hathor written by Dr Chintamani Sharma, the Principal of the college, and Kobita aru Prem written by Leena Hazarika, Associate Professor of the college, were released by Dhrubajyoti Das and Pramod Borthakur respectively.
