Dibrugarh DC Pallav Gopal Jha holds review meeting of Education department at DC office

Dibrugarh: A review meeting of the Education department, presided over by DC Pallav Gopal Jha, was held at the DC office on Thursday. Jha, in the meeting, asked the District Primary Education Officer to oversee the participation of the students in schools, standard of education, availability of the required teachers and availability of the required text books, among others, through the visit of the Block Resource Centre Coordinators to the schools. He also ordered the said officer, in harmony with Right to Education Act, to have the standard of the meals offered to the students as part of the mid-day meal programme evaluated through regular school visits of the said coordinators. In the meeting, he was also informed of the measures taken by the Education department to restart the process of lesson-giving in schools affected by the recent floods and bring the school-deprived children to the mainstream. Jha also urged the District Primary Education Officer to expedite the process of granting pensions to the retired teachers.
