In order to maintain law and order during Holi festival, the District Magistrate, Pallav Gopal Jha, by an order under Sec.52 (A) of Assam Excise Act 2000, has declared March 28 as Dry Day.

DIBRUGARH: In order to maintain law and order during Holi festival, the District Magistrate, Pallav Gopal Jha, by an order under Sec.52 (A) of Assam Excise Act 2000, has declared March 28 as Dry Day. Liquor sale is completely prohibited in bars, hotels, clubs or any other retail liquor shops on the dry day. Violation of the order in any form will draw penal action under Excise Act.
