DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh Marwari Samaj on Tuesday organized a prabhat pheri on the occasion of Holi festival. People from the community participated in the prabhat pheri in traditional attire. The prabhat pheri started from Rani Sati Mandir and passed through the main roads of Dibrugarh town.

“For the last five years, we have been organizing prabhat pheri on the occasion of Holi. Holi is a festival of colours and during the festival we play with flowers on the first day of the festival. Holi songs were played during the festival,” a member of the mandir committee.

On Wednesday, rain dance was organized in Marwaripatty in Dibrugarh like every year. People participated in the rain dance in large numbers to enjoy the festival of colours. Dibrugarh district administration had declared local holiday on March 8 on the occasion of Holi.
