Dibrugarh: Police arrested Drug peddler from Amlopatty area

DIBRUGARH: Dibrugarh police arrested a woman with 47 grams of suspected brown sugar from Amlopatty area of Dibrugarh on Wednesday evening. The arrested woman has been identified as Neha Das. After getting secret information, Dibrugarh police launched an operation and arrested the woman drug smuggler from her residence at Amlopatty Rose Goli area in Dibrugarh.

According to police her husband Wasim was involved in drug smuggling and a case has been registered at Dibrugarh police station against him. “We have arrested the woman and from her residence 47 grams of suspected brown sugar was recovered. We have sent the drug sample for laboratory test. A case under NDPS was registered against the woman,” said a police official. Meanwhile, Dibrugarh police have started a massive crackdown against drugs and so far many drug peddlers were arrested from different areas of the district.
