Dibrugarh police arrested two drug peddlers, heroin recovered

DIBRUGARH: As part of the war against drugs and narcotic substances, Dibrugarh police arrested two drug peddlers from Jokai bypass and recovered over 38 gram heroin from their possession. The arrested drug peddlers were later identified as Viniyiant Sarmah and Bikash Sharma of Tinsukia .

DSP headquarter, Dibrugarh, later told media persons at Chabua that OC Chabua and I/C Lepetkata under his leadership laid a trap at Jokai bypass and based on reliable input, intercepted a Spark car and arrested both the peddlers who according to sources, were supposed to supply drugs to Chabua. He further stated that police seized their Spark car. He further stated that police had already wiped out the majority peddlers of the district and were determined to nab the rest of the peddlers soon who are still engaged in the trade. Police investigation is on.
