KOLKATA: A Dibrugarh-arranged airline Vistara flight from Delhi made an emergency arrival at Kolkata airport pertaining to medical grounds after a cabin crew fell victim to illness on board and required immediate medical treatment.
The Vistara aircraft UK 741 had taken off from Delhi carrying 149 passengers along with 6 crew members. While the airline was flying in the West Bengal sky, one of the crew members started witnessing multiple occurrences of vomiting.
The pilot in the airplane appealed for an emergency landing at the Kolkata ATC on medical grounds. The aircraft landed at Kolkata airport at 10.29 am where doctors at the airport straight away attended to the crew member and provided first aid. Soon after, the flight attendant was evacuated and at about 11.50 am, the aircraft proceeded toward Dibrugarh with another crew.
Meanwhile, on Sunday around 11 am, a Kolkata-bound AIX Connect, formerly known as AirAsia India, aircraft heading towards Kolkata returned to the airbase at Luckow airport following a bird hit. The aircraft carrying 147 passengers on board had been grounded for an elaborate inspection.
The flight scheduled to function from Lucknow to Kolkata, witnessed a bird strike while taking off. The affected guests were attended with all efforts to alleviate the impact on the integrity of other arranged operations, stated in an Air Asia statement. The airline further apologized for the inconvenience caused due to circumstances beyond its control.
Earlier on 18 January, a Vistara flight scheduled from Singapore to Mumbai returned to Changi Airport soon after a technical snag was spotted in one of the engines of the Airbus A321 aircraft, an airlines official informed.
