MANGALDAI: "The Assam Police is determined to maintain a crime-free society with the traditional peace and communal harmony in the State and has been adopting zero tolerance against all types of criminal activities. All the 'Men in Khaki' are taking a tough stand against the organized gang of drugs traffickers, human trafficking, poachers and corruption, which has resulted the arrest of such criminals with the recovery of drugs and contraband ganja. Bringing a hope of ray in conservation of rhinos and tigers, the tough action on such anti-social criminal elements has resulted in zero poaching in the protected areas, including Kaziranga National Park and Orang National Park and Tigers Reserve. The police with the iron fist on velvet gloves has also been taking a very polite and people-friendly attitude towards all sections of peace-loving citizens," said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police of Central Western Range (CWR) Brajenjit Singha while taking part in a crime review meeting at the conference hall of SP's office here in Mangaldai on Wednesday.

Officers in-charge of all the police stations and senior police officials of Darrang district, including Deputy Superintendent of Police (HQ) Pranjal Bora took part in the meeting. Earlier, Superintendent of Police Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma accorded a welcome to the visiting DIG. In the meeting, he also gave a patient hearing to the Officers in-charge of the police stations. Briefing the visiting DIG, Superintendent of Police Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma apprised him of the achievements made by Darrang Police against the anti-social criminal elements and also reiterated the commitment of the Darrang Police in maintaining a peaceful atmosphere with zero tolerance towards the anti-social elements.

"Darrang Police is always committed for the people of Darrang district and all the officers in khaki should give special importance to the women and the distressed and weaker sections of the society," said Superintendent of Police Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma while addressing the meeting.
