Digboi MLA Suren Phukan seeks cooperation of media persons

DOOMDOOMA: Digboi MLA Suren Phukan, who is also in-charge MLA for Doomdooma constituency, visited Doomdooma Press Club (DPC) and interacted with the local scribes on Friday afternoon. He lauded the services of media persons during the COVID 19 pandemic and as a gesture of appreciation, felicitated the members of the club with phulam gamosa, besides giving each one of them sanitizers, masks and gloves. During the interaction, MLA Suren Phukan spoke about the various developmental schemes implemented in his constituency, of which a part falls in Doomdooma area also. He was authorized by the Chief Minister to monitor whether various developmental schemes of the government were properly implemented in Doomdooma LAC area or not. MLA Phukan sought the cooperation of the members of DPC in this regard.

Assistant secretary of DPC, Manoj Baruah felicitated the MLA with a phulam gamosa while president Arjun Baruah assured him of all cooperation for all-round development of both the constituencies. MLA Phukan also made a commitment of offering Rs 2 lakh as grant-in-aid for development of DPC. MLA Phukan also visited the 30-bedded Doomdooma FRU and took stock of various problems faced by it. He also interacted with the in-charge of the hospital and Senior Medical and Health Officer, Dr Ranjit Das and local MLA Durga Bhumij. On request of Dr Ranjit Das, MLA Phukan announced that a state-of-the-art ambulance would be provided to the FRU soon.
