HAFLONG: Dima Hasao Deputy Commissioner Nazreen Ahmed has issued an advisory that people should not move out of their houses except for any emergency requirement or medical purposes. The advisory has been issued in anticipation of heavy rainfall reported by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati.

As per the advisory, people residing in and around the vulnerable locations are requested toshift to the nearest notified relief camps for immediate shelter if deemed necessary. As per another order issued by the DC vide power conferred under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act 2005, all educational institutions in Dima Hasao will remain closed from June 15 to June 18 in the interest of public safety.
