HAFLONG: Demanding clearance of the salary of the employees of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC), Dima Hasao Trinamool Congress submitted a memorandum to the Principal Secretary (N) of the NCHAC, Haflong on Monday.
The memorandum maintained that at a time when people were trying to cope with the unprecedented crisis triggered by economic distress, NCHAC employees had not received their salaries for the last seven months. The employees are financial hardship and finding it difficult to run their families. The memorandum stated that effective administration was key to growth and progress for an organization. Likewise, timely payment of salaries is essential for an effective administration. However, if the workforce is being denied timely payment of salary, it may have negative impact upon office administration.
Dima Hasao Trinamool Congress urged that the salaries should be released without further delay so as to avoid the grievances of employees being reduced to a political slugfest.
The Dima Hasao Trinamool Congress also demanded concrete steps to clear the pending salary of the various municipal board employees under the control of NCHAC. The party said that employees of four municipal boards viz Haflong, Mahur, Maibang and Umrongso had not received their salaries for several months.
