Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta attends celebration of Lachit Barphukan's 400th birth anniversary

MORIGAON: The Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta attended a march past programme at Tarun Ram Field on Friday to commemorate the 400th birth anniversary of the legendary Ahom King, the great General Lachit Barphukan. After taking the guard of honour, DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta addressed the police, scout and guide. He asked them to be inspired by the great General Lachit Barphukan. He asked everyone to follow the path of the great leadership of Lachit Barphukan who fought against Mughal Empire in the battle of Saraighat held in 1671. The DGP Bhaskarjyoti Mahanta was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Devashish Sarma , CEO KC Pegu, Superientendent of Police Hemanta Kr Das, ADC Garga Muhan Das, ADC Arundhuti Nipun Narah. On the otherhand, a bike rally was organized by the district administration which was innaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Devashish Sarma at DC office .The rally was organized from DC office to Pobitora Wild Life Sanctunary, Mayong.
