Distribution programme of hybrid seeds held at Mazgaon Training Center, Tezpur

Tezpur: The distribution of the hybrid seed programme for farmers convened by the Department of Agriculture, Sonitpur was held at Mazgaon Training Center, Tezpur under the National Food Security Mission (NFSM) and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) schemes on Tuesday.

A total of 150 farmers from Tezpur and Rangapara Lac participated in the programme. Hybrid seeds of mustard, onion and maize were distributed among the farmers along with a mango sapling. Tezpur MLA Prithiraj Rava graced the occasion as a chief guest and Pankaj Saikia, District Agriculture officer as a guest of honour. Saikia inspired the peasants for agri-work as well as agri-business, besides distributing the packets of seeds. The event was attended by Joint Director of Agriculture Pabitra Sharma, Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officers, Naren Chandra Sharma, Arup Dutta, Pranjal Sharma, District NFSM Coordinator Nekib Ahmed and other dignitaries.
