District Commissioner of Lakhimpur inspires aspiring civil servants

LAKHIMPUR: The Career Counselling Cell of Lakhimpur Girls’ College, in collaboration with Impact Career Tutorials, organised a career guidance session featuring Sumit Sattawan, an IAS officer, serving as the District Commissioner of Lakhimpur. The event was designed to cater to aspiring students eager to pursue civil service as a career option. During an electrifying session, Sattawan shared invaluable insights with the budding aspirants. Dr Surajit Bhuyan, the Principal of Lakhimpur Girls’ College, graced the occasion with his inaugural address, extending a warm and gracious welcome to the distinguished guest-cum-resource person. In his brief speech, Dr Bhuyan highlighted the noteworthy undertakings of the Career Counselling Cell at the college and expressed his satisfaction with their achievements.

In a compelling and prolonged interactive session, the District Commissioner underscored the diverse study approaches essential for civil service aspirants. He emphasized that relentless practice stands as the cornerstone of success in this pursuit. In response to a student’s query, Sattawan emphasized that, in the contemporary world, poverty should never hinder one’s aspirations. Additionally, he shared a plethora of insights regarding crafting effective responses in civil service examinations, preparing for personal interviews post-mains qualification, and the nurturing of one’s authentic persona. Concluding the event, Jayantajit Bordoloi, an Assistant Professor in the Department of History, extended heartfelt gratitude to the District Commissioner and all the attendees. He also lauded the Career Counselling Cell of the college for the triumphant execution of this vibrant programme.
