District Development Committee meeting held in Silchar

Silchar: District Development Committee meeting for the month of February was held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office on Thursday. The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar Barnali Sharma. In the meeting department, wise progress was reviewed especially PWD Building, PWD roads, Agriculture (engineer) the CIDF, etc.

Executive Engineer PWD Building has informed that 90% progress of Auditorium at Assam university under the united fund has been achieved and will be completed within March 2020.

The Cachar Deputy commissioner appreciated the joint Director of health for taking the proper initiative against Coronavirus Management. She also expressed great concern for poor performance as regards the installation of a Hallow Tube well under RIDF where the target was 2397 but it was achieved only 55 by the agriculture engineering department and instructed the concerned department for setting this target to complete the assignment within march 31,2020.

In the meeting, it was informed that an amount of rupees Rs 200 crore has been sanctioned under CIDF for Silchar. In a separate meeting, Cachar Deputy Commissioner Barnali Sharma also reviewed the status of 3 incomplete bridges at Karati gram, Dongripar, and Badripar over the river Barak. She entrusted all the concerned circle officers to inspect and monitor the progress regarding eradication of ground-level hindrance so that approach roads of the bridges can be constructed shortly, further she also instructed the concerned executive engineer PWD roads territorial road division to sort out the ground level difficulties and solve them within 7 days and report her accordingly. The meeting was also attended by District Development Commissioner Jessica Lalsim, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan and others, stated a press release.
