District Magistrate impose restrictions in Bhalukmari and Bhalukpong

Tezpur: Anticipating breach of peace and disturbance to public tranquillity, District Magistrate Manvendra Pratap Singh has, under provisions of Section 144 CrPC, prohibited the assembly of five or more persons in public places falling under Dharikati of Bhalukmari GP to Bhalukpong under Chariduar Revenue Circle and Chariduar PS and gathering of more than five people at picnic spots in Nameri Reserve Forest area without prior permission from competent authority.

The action comes after it came to the notice of the Sonitpur district administration that some people were selling/ manufacturing illicit liquor in these areas and also flouting COVID-19 guidelines. The order will come into force with immediate effect in entire Bhalukmari GP under Chariduar Revenue Circle and will remain in force until further orders.
