District road safety committee meeting held in Biswanath

BISWANATH CHARIALI: Jay Shivani, Additional Deputy Commissioner and I/C Biswanath subdivision chaired a meeting on District Road Safety Committee on Friday at the conference hall of the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, Biswanath.

The meeting was also attended by Navin Singh, Superintendent of Police, Biswanath, Biswajit Saikia, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Debashis Goswami, Election Officer, Biswanath and Executive Officer, Biswanath Chariali Municipal Board, Circle Officer, Naduar Revenue Circle, Assistant Commissioner, Heads of departments concerned and other officials.

The meeting held discussion regarding strict adherence to traffic, road safety rules, demarcation of zones for vehicle parking, impounding of fines against violators, putting up of appropriate signages on the National Highway 15 and other roads, proper levelling of approaches to culverts and bridges, etc. The meeting also suggested to constitute teams comprising Executive Magistrates, Engineers from both PWD (Roads) and National Highway Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. for every 10 km to monitor and redress its issues.
